Despite these difficult times we are still here for you.
We will remain open during the lockdown period in accordance with government guidance and our professional bodies advice so that you can still access eyecare.
Over the past year we have worked hard to provide a safe and comfortable environment within our practices so that you can visit with confidence. Our staff now test themselves twice a week to make sure that they are negative for coronavirus.
We have a locked door policy so that all visits to the practice are by appointment. This means that we can talk to you before your visit to reassure you about the steps we have taken to keep you safe, and we also run through a questionnarie to establish if you have any symptoms that would mean we should delay your visit to the practice until you are recovered. This helps to keep everybody safe. There are doorbells at each practice - if you ring please be patient as the receptionists may be occupied on the telephone, but will be with you as soon as possible.
We monitor the number of people within the practice, and there may be times when you will be asked to wait outside in order to allow for social distancing.
All surfaces within the practice are regularly cleaned, there is enhanced cleaning within clinical areas, and all our staff wear PPE. We ask that you wear a face mask or covering when attending the practice. Plastic screens are fitted in reception, and there is enhanced ventilation within the practices.
Appointment times have been lengthened to allow for the enhanced cleaning. For dispensing of spectacles we have very particular cleaning of frames, sanitising them both before and after you try them on, both physically and with UV disinfection.
Our practices are now all physically open on most days but may have altered opening hours depending on staff availability. Please telephone ahead to check opening times before travelling.
Appointments can be booked at all our practices, although some branches have a waiting list. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list please contact the practice and we can do this for you.
Additionally our practices are open for essential and urgent remote telephone consultations in normal opening hours, and we will be happy to talk to you and discuss your needs.
Normal opening hours are 9am - 5.30pm Mon - Fri, (lunch 1-2pm), 9am - 12.30pm Sat.
If you have broken or lost your spectacles please ring to see how we can help - our workshop at West Bridgford is working and we can sort things out for you in almost all cases. In view of the current situation please wash your spectacles with lukewarm soapy water before bringing them to the practice, and be aware that we will disinfect them before handling them - this is usually safe but in rare instances may affect the frame or lenses. There is a cleaning and disinfecting charge applied to all repairs.
Please ring your normal practice phone number for more information.
We have implemented all these policies to keep you and our staff safe, and so that you can visit with confidence. Please be patient if there are times when things take a little longer than they used to.
