Cosmetic Contact Lenses are a great way of adding to a fancy dress costume, changing your eye colour, matching a particular outfit or even to cosmetically change how you look.  As they don't change your eyesight you don't need a prescription to buy them.

However, they should only be sold by a registered optician who can make sure they fit properly and advise on how to wear and care for them.

Cosmetic Contact Lenses are widely available from all types of high street stores, but without the direct supervision or an eyecare expert, selling them is illegal.

Used safely the risks with Cosmetic Contact Lenses is low but not everyone knows how to use them safely.  As just a fashion item they still need to be treated just as well as a prescription Contact Lens.
